Service Delivery: SERVICOM Report Scores NSITF High.

The Service Compact with all Nigeria (SERVICOM) has scored the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) high in its assessment of the Fund's service delivery for the past year.

Report of the assessment which was made available to Newsmen in Abuja Wednesday, showed that ten Regional and State Branch offices were exceptional in their service to customers. 

According to the report, the offices include the Abuja Regional anyd FCT Branch offices; Jos Regional and Branch offices; Asaba Regional and Branch offices as well as Kano Regional and Branch offices. 



Others are Bauchi Regional and Branch offices, Maiduguri, Enugu, Owerri, Lagos, and Port-Hacourt Regional and Branch offices.

SERVICOM Report stated that the objective of the evaluation was "to ensure citizen-focussed service delivery" while "identifying gaps in service delivery and making recommendations to the Fund to improve customer satisfaction and accountability."



The evaluation, which measured performance against the Fund's mandate using the the SERVICOM Index, scored the selected offices an average of 72.5%.

Highlights of the evaluation report showed that the Fund scored high in digitization of its operations which has led to better efficiency. 

Other areas NSITF was rated excellent  were in it's spread of offices fostering accessibility, streamlining of the Claims and Compensation process which enabled timely settlement, and provision of free work environment safety audits for employers to minimize work-related accidents.

This indicates the NSITF’s service delivery has witnessed dramatic improvement in one year since the new management under the leadership of Barrister Oluwaseun Mayomi Faleye as Managing Director/Chief Executive.

The Executive Director Administration of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Barrister Samaila Abdu has said that strong work Ethics was key to improved productivity and attainment of organisation's success.

Barrister Samaila Abdu asserted this in his goodwill message to the 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on Ethical Reorientation for Enhanced Awareness of Responsibilities in Promotion of Management's Policies and Core Values in Nassarawa State last Tuesday.

He said "The importance of ethically re-orienting staff and their representatives in alignment with Management's strategic policies can not be overstated. The demonstration of the right attitude whether as individual or as part of a team is the cornerstone of productivity and success in any organization."

Barrister Abdu eulogized the Fund's staff unions leadership for the spirit of collaboration and teamwork they had exhibited in the past year. He urged them to continue in the same Spirit to take NSITF to greater heights.

The workshop was organized by the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) NSITF Domestic Unit for its coordinators and Human Resources professionals across all regional and states' branches of the Fund.

The ED  disclosed that the executive management of the Fund under the leadership of "the visionary and forward-looking Managing Director, Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye" was working to reposition the NSITF through digitization, data-driven policies, expansion of services, improved staff welfare and workplace safety, and rejigged manpower development and training.

While promising the staff better deals going forward, he urged them to focus on the issue of the day and be ambassadors of strong work Ethics.

Over 150 Deaths in Construction Accidents in 2024: Faleye urges prevention and protection

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye has lamented the more than 150 reported construction sites accident-related deaths in Nigeria in 2024 alone.

Barrister Faleye spoke while delivering his keynote address as the special guest of honour at the 69th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Construction Industry in Abuja, Wednesday.

"It is a sobering reality that Nigeria experiences an average of 50-70 major construction accidents annually, including building collapses, falls, and machinery-related injuries. The Nigerian Safety Commission reported over 150 fatalities linked to construction site accidents last year alone,” he lamented.

The NSITF boss said such incidents highlight the truth of prevention is better than cure, and went on  to proffer measures towards prevention saying "Strengthening health and safety protocols is crucial. “

According to him, “this involves rigorous safety audits, compliance with standards, and continuous capacity building to protect workers at all times. A proactive safety culture--where risks are identified and mitigated early--is essential to preventing tragedies before they occur."

Barrister Faleye therefore advocated collective effort in embedding safety and welfare into every project. He said that would foster work "environments where workers can operate confidently and securely." 

He urged construction companies to collaborate with NSITF’s Health, Safety and Environment team on audits, capacity building and other interventions, expressing the organisation's commitment to partner all willing employers in providing both physical and social protections to all Nigerian workers. 

He further stated that the "commitment to safety and well-being is foundational. It is also a strong element of sustainable industry growth. 

“NSITF remains dedicated to supporting safety initiatives through regular audits, certification processes, and enforcement of standards because a resilient construction industry depends on a healthy, protected workforce." 

The FOCI 69th AGM was attended by leading players in the construction industry in Nigeria, government officials, and other stakeholders.

Ethical Reorientation, critical to institutional growth and staff development -Faleye

Ethical reorientation is critical to institutional growth and staff development. This is according to the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Barrister Oluwaseun Mayomi Faleye.

Barrister Faleye spoke in his goodwill message to the Workshop on Ethical Reorientation organized by the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions, (ASSBIFI) NSITF Domestic Unit.


Commending organizer, the Managing Director said the "programme touches the very heart of institutional growth and staff development."  He said the theme; “Ethical Reorientation to Enhance Awareness of Responsibilities in Promoting Management Policies and Core Values”, could not have come at a better time."

He thanked the staff for the support shown him since he assumed duty in July, 2024, noting, "that support has been instrumental in fostering industrial harmony, which in turn has provided me with the enabling environment to stay focused on delivering on our mandate. Without harmony, focus becomes difficult but with unity, the road to progress is clearer and more achievable."

Harping on the need for teamwork and strong work Ethics, Barrister Faleye said: "Together, we must build bridges, not walls; deepen synergy, not suspicion; and move from fragmented efforts to collective impact. This is the spirit that will carry our Fund to greater heights."

Quoting the late safe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, he said, “it is only through cooperation, hard work, and perseverance that we can achieve greatness as a people.”

According Barrister Faleye, 'the workshop is more than just a capacity-building exercise. It is a reaffirmation of our duty to the Nigerian workers and to the Nigerian state. It is a call to refine our perspectives, improve our coordination, and realign our daily responsibilities to the core values that sustain this Fund."


Assuring of Management's continued support for programmes such as this, he urged participants to go beyond listening to practicing lessons learnt. "Let us leave here with renewed conviction that each of us has a role to play in the growth of the NSITF." He concluded.

Earlier In his opening remarks, ASSBIFI President, Comrade Olusoji Okewole said the workshop was organized "to foster ethical awareness and align responsibilities as leaders and staff with organizational policies and core values."

The workshop runs from Monday through Tuesday and has human resources professionals of the Fund in attendance.

NSITF's presentation at NBA 65th annual conference, an eye opener-NBA

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has described the outing of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), at the 65th annual NBA Conference in Enugu, as an eye opener for many lawyers in the country, on the functions of the Fund, and the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS). 

In the same vein, the NBA commended the Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye-led management team for a very brilliant presentation at the conference.



Making these assertions when he led his team on a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of NSITF at the  Corporate Headquarters of the Fund, Chairman of the NBA Gwagwalada Branch, Owhor Clever (Esq), praised the NSITF management for its excellent performance.

His words:" the NSITF outing at our 65th annual conference in Enugu was an eye opener for many lawyers in Nigeria on the functions of the Fund  and ECA. The NSITF team to the conference deserves commendations for their brilliant presentations".



He however lamented that many workers had been left destitute due to workplace injuries for the reasons of lack of awareness.

Responding, the Managing Director of the NSITF, Oluwaseun Faleye,  again, called on lawyers in Nigeria to  lend their influence with clients to advocate for compliance with the Employees' Compensation Act 2010.

Faleye, who was represented by the Executive Director Administration, Barrister  Samaila Abdu, said lawyers "have a duty to advise clients as to how they can key in to the Employees' Compensation Scheme,” continuing that "we have a duty to ourselves and to our clients."

Coming on the heels of the just concluded 65th Annual Conference of the NBA in Enugu, the visit aimed at forging partnerships with the Fund on mutual areas of interest. 

The MD  revealed the Fund's plan to embark on visits to NBA branches to further raise awareness on the benefits of the ECS and the need for compliance. He promised the Fund would collaborate with the Gwagwalada Branch of the NBA on training, sensitization and other areas that could further enhance each organisation's goals and objectives.

He said "The Employees' Compensation Act 2010, emerged as a legal reform and moral commitment to take care of workplace injuries for those who have keyed into the scheme."  

It would be recalled that NSITF boss presented the lead paper titled "Enhancing Workplace Safety and Social Protection:The Role of Employees' Compensation Act 2010" at the VI Breakout Session of the NBA Conference in Enugu.

EKSU Alumni, FCT Holds General Meeting, Fetes Immediate Past Global President.

The Abuja, FCT chapter of Ekiti State University Alumni Association held its general meeting Saturday, 6th September, 2025. The meeting, which also served as homecoming ceremony for the immediate past global president of the alumni association, Engr. Dipo Bamisaye, was the inaugural for the new exco which came into office July.

The Global President, Ambassador Seyi Idowu thanked the former Global President  " for being a light, a guide, and a pride to many of us." He stated further that Engr. Bamisaye had been a pillar of support for him even as he extolled him for his effortless contributions to the growth of the association and the development of their Alma Mater. He added that the immediate past President went far in solving the problem of transcript processing for old alumni. 



In the same vein, Ashiwaju Adetuberu described Engr. Dipo Bamisaye as a good man and personification of humility. He stated that the former president was always ready to help members of the Association. He listed the honouree's achievement in office to include building of the Alumni Village, helping a member involved in accident with a million naira and helping more than 80% of members at various times.



The immediate past Global President,  Engr. Dipo Bamisaye while accepting the award of Excellence awarded him by the FCT chapter, thanked his colleagues in the former exco and all those who supported him in office."This can only encourage me to do more."  The past president opined that "Alumni association is actually for networking for self reliance so that we can give back to our Alma Mater and the larger community."  M "I'll keep supporting Abuja chapter." He promised.


An award of excellence was also presented to the current Global President, Ambassador Seyi Idowu. Others who received award in the occasion are immediate past exco members of the chapter led by Honourable Olakunle Oleshin. 


Accepting the award, Ambassador Seyi Idowu said the award to him "is to trigger better performance."  He revealed that his administration had further worked on solving the issue of transcript processing, created a website for the Association, laid the foundation for the Leadership Centre at the Alumni Village and was working on digitizing the Alma Mater operations.


Speakers after speakers attested to the leadership qualities of Ambassador Seyi Idowu. FCT chapter chairman Barrister Ademola Adeleye particularly praised him for his achievement in the short time in office while Ashiwaju Adetuberu said he was not disappointed by the President's performance.

Chief host of the event and chairman of the FCT chapter of EKSUAA,  Barrister Ademola Adeleye in his welcome address revealed he had set up a fund to enroll members of the chapter who were not already enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme. He announced he had personally donated one million naira to the fund while Engr. Dipo Bamisaye and his friend, Engr. Olumide Abegunde also donated a million naira apiece. At the event, a former chapter chairman, Segun Obayendo, announced a donation of another one million naira to the cause.



Likewise, Barrister Adeleye announced the institution of awards to best graduating students from various departments of the Alma Mater. He said he had made a personal donation of five hundred thousand naira to be shared equally by the best graduating students from departments of Law and Philosophy at the commencement of the award next year.


Adeleye promised to run an inclusive chapter and to align with thev SEED vision of the Global President.

Faleye, NSITF Boss, Bags Leadership Award.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund,(NSITF), Barrister Olúwaṣeun Faleye, has been honoured with the Corporate Health and Safety Environment (HSE) Leadership Award.

The Award, in recognition of the NSITF MD’s unwavering support of Health, Safety and Environment initiatives across Nigerian workplaces, was presented by the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) during the Abuja Safety Summit held at the Yar'Adua Centre, Abuja on Wednesday.

The occasion was witnessed by numerous stakeholders in the field of workplace safety including the National President ISPON, Chief (Dr) Stephen Udeze and the Institute's Registrar. Others are: the Director of Administration, Julius Berger Nigeria, Dr. Abdulaziz Isa Laiya and the Director of Safety Nigerian Navy; General Manager HSE of NSITF, Anthony Eke and the Fund's Head of APRD, Engr. (Dr) Nasiru Aminu.

At the Award, Chairman of the Abuja Chapter  of ISPON, Mrs. Ifeoma Okpara, commended Barrister Faleye for his visionary leadership and open endorsement of HSE programmes as key drivers of productivity describing him as "the most supportive Managing Director."


The Managing Director, who  was represented by his Technical Adviser and General Manager, Managing Director's office, Dr. Dayo Alao, expressed delight over the award. 

He said it "serves as motivation to do more" as he reiterated continual support for and commitment to promotion of workplace safety and health in Nigeria.

Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye has breathed new life into NSITF in just a year in office, of particular interest is his reinvention of the workplace safety and health promotion, a long neglected mandate of the Fund having far-reaching impacts for workers' welfare, national productivity and development. 

He not only personally took up the campaign, but further leads by example ensuring the Fund itself adheres to international standards. He recently procured vital health equipment, to including first aid kits, blood pressure monitors, body massagers and blood sugar monitors, for the use of NSITF's staff nationwide.

NSITF Boosts Workers Health with Vital Health Equipment.


The Barrister Olawaseun Faleye -led Management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF)  has procured vital health equipment for the use of its workforce across the nation. 


General Manager Health, Safety and Environment Department of the Fund, Mr Tony Eke,  disclosed this Monday when he sent a thank you message to the Managing Director.


The letter of appreciation reads: "The Health, Safety and Environment Department wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the Management of NSITF for the recent provision of First Aid kits to the head office,  regional offices, and branch offices of the Fund.



"This proactive measure demonstrates management's continued commitment to safeguarding employers, in alignment with the International Labour Organisation's (ILO) standards on Occupational Safety and Health (OHS), which emphasize the responsibility of employers to provide a safe and healthy working environment.”


The procured items include sets of First Aid kits, massagers, blood pressure monitors, and blood sugar testing machines for all the Fund's staff. 


The GM noted in the message that "The availability of First Aid kits at all office locations is a vital step in ensuring readiness to respond to workplace emergencies, mitigating risks, and promoting a culture of safety."


On behalf of the staff,  the GM commended the Management for the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive workplace.


The gesture demonstrates the Olawaseun Faleye -led Management's commitment to workers' welfare and leading by example as an agency saddled with the responsibility of promoting workplace health and safety in Nigeria.
