APC PROFESSIONAL WOMEN COUNCIL HONOURS NSITF ED, ALLI-MACULAY, APPOINTS HER MATRON

In recognition of her leadership and professional standing, the Executive Director, Operations of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Hon. Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Maculay, has been appointed Matron of the APC Professional Women Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.

The appointment was announced during a courtesy visit by the Council to Alli-Maculay, where members outlined their commitment to promoting women's leadership, advancing inclusion and strengthening advocacy for the protection and welfare of women.

Conferring the honour, Dr Maria Olasehinde, the FCT Coordinator, who led the delegation of the APC Professional Women on the visit, noted that the Council seeks to create platforms that encourage women to take up leadership responsibilities, participate meaningfully in governance and contribute more actively to national development.

Olasehinde, speaking on behalf of the women, also underscored the invaluable contributions of the ED to women’s development, describing her as a mentor and source of inspiration to women across diverse spheres. She noted that her leadership journey, commitment to empowering women and exemplary conduct serve as an important reference point for what effective female representation in politics and governance can achieve in Nigeria.

In her response, Alli-Maculay welcomed the delegation and emphasised that women's inclusion in nation-building must extend beyond mere representation to active participation in the decisions that shape the country's future.

She stressed that women must be deliberate about occupying spaces where critical national decisions are made, particularly in politics, governance and public leadership. According to her, national development is better served when women are adequately represented and actively involved in shaping policies and decisions that affect society.

The NSITF Executive Director further underscored the importance of women's collective support, visibility and engagement in creating opportunities for greater female participation across different spheres of influence.

Her acceptance of the matronship offers the Council an opportunity to draw on her professional experience and leadership perspective as it pursues its objectives of promoting women's advancement, inclusion and protection.

The visit concluded on a note of mutual goodwill, with the appointment symbolising a shared commitment to encouraging women's leadership, strengthening solidarity and creating more opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to society.

Alli-Maculay's recognition adds to the growing visibility of women in strategic leadership positions and reinforces the importance of mentorship, representation and collective action in advancing women's participation in national development.
